The UK is full of amazing campsites that cater for every type of holiday. Whether you're looking for a site that will have enough to entertain the kids or simply a place to sit and be, you can find it amongst the varied landscapes the United Kingdom has to offer. If you're looking to go glamping without necessarily travelling too far then you'll never have to look for long. Here we pick of seven of the best within an hour's drive of our office.

Keeper's Meadow, Norfolk

01603 279024

A secluded glampsite with its' own private woods. The bell tents here are various sizes and furnished with beds and comfy bedding. Mains electricity is provided along with wood for the woodburners.
We love the fact that there's a river for canoeing and fishing (canoes can be hired).

Happy Valley, Norfolk

01485 600719

You may be wondering what makes this valley so happy. Is it the natural springs on site? Is it the tree temple? Maybe it's just the flexible luxury camping opportunity amongst acres of woodland on this Norfolk Wildlife Trust Site.
A wood-fired hot-tub rounds off the whole relaxing experience.

Oak Lodge Glamping, Norfolk

01366 727269

This ten acre site offers a mix of back-to-basics and luxury. Simple pleasures like chatting around campfires are encouraged but solar powered chargers for gadgets and lights can be supplied for those who must stay connected at all costs.
To really glamp in style here though, you'd probably want to take advantage of the gypsy caravans.

Gorsey Meadow, Norfolk

01603 880339

Gorsey Meadow fits the classic quality campsite image to a tee. It's small, so perfect if you go camping with a group, and there's every amenity you'd expect and more. Sam's furnishing of the bell tents is impeccable and her thoughtfulness means that every age group is catered for. This is a wonderfully secluded meadow where adults can switch off and children can roam free.

Bed Down Glamping, Suffolk

07952 010530

This site set in two acres of picturesque Suffolk countryside is deliberately small to keep the hustle and bustle to a minimum. Families are especially welcome here and pets are no exception. All amenities are provided including high chairs and travel cots.
To experience true relaxation here you should take part in one of Sally's yoga retreats.

Happy Days Retro Vacations, Suffolk

01728 603424

Situated on the Suffolk coast, this small campsite offers trailers and Airstreams as accommodation. The neighbourly feel is accentuated by the fact that there are only nine pitches and tents are only allowed when booking a caravan to sleep in. There are various trailers to choose from depending on how many people in your party and the model of trailer you prefer. There's a well-equipped play area to keep the kids entertained. Saxmundham and the shops are only a mile away.

Round the Woods

01603 870394

This one's a real beauty. Luxury yurts and facilities set in private woodland. Kate and Seb will provide you with the warmest of welcomes when you arrive here. If you can muster up the will to leave the quality confines of your yurt then you may explore the wild meadow and the orchard where you'll find chickens and geese roaming free. There's plenty to do nearby too, with Norwich on the doorstep, the Broads nearby and the wonderful North Norfolk coast only 30 minutes away.

There you have it. You can sleep in a tent, a yurt or a trailer, escape from the day-to-day and find tranquility without too much effort at all!
